Campendium combines campground discovery and camper contributions with paid trip-planning tools. For pet parents, the useful question is not which app has the longest feature list: it is whether the information answers the questions that affect your animal and your particular stop.

What you can use without a membership
Campendium’s official RV Pro feature guide, updated July 31, 2026, says its free features include browsing the map for campgrounds, public land and dump stations; reading listings, reviews and photos; writing reviews; saving places; and submitting missing campgrounds. The previous version of this article incorrectly suggested a subscription was required for Campendium generally.
Reviews and photographs can help you assess site spacing, terrain and reported conditions. Check the date, whether the reviewer used a similar rig, and whether pet comments describe an operator rule or one visitor’s experience. A review is not a current policy or a promise that the same site will be available.
Which features belong to RV Pro?
The same official guide lists trip planning, Autopilot stop suggestions, collaboration, RV-safe navigation, CAMPalerts, overnight-parking data, cell-coverage overlays and additional map layers as paid features. It distinguishes web and mobile availability, and labels offline maps “coming soon.” Check the current guide and the app you intend to use before purchasing.
At the time reviewed, the guide lists $59.99/year with a one-week trial and $19.99/month without a trial. Prices, trial eligibility and feature rollout can change. These are documented offers, not our assessment of route accuracy or alert delivery. RV-safe navigation remains subject to road signs, restrictions and current conditions.
Campendium and Roadtrippers are separate apps
The official comparison says saved trips, favorites and reviews do not carry over between them. Membership access depends on when and where a subscription began. Related support pages use different May 2026 cutoff dates, so check your own account and current membership terms rather than assuming one subscription unlocks both.
The pet questions a campground listing must answer
- Your animal: number of pets, accepted species, breed or size restrictions, vaccination requirements and any extra fees.
- Your stay: leash length, unattended-pet rules, designated walking areas, cabin restrictions and whether the exact site allows pets.
- Your activities: access to a specific trail or shoreline, nesting-season closures, and whether an off-leash area is actually fenced and open.
- Your backup plan: current veterinary hours, species served, emergency intake and travel time from camp.
A broad “pets allowed” field cannot settle all of these questions. Look for a dated operator policy and call if an important detail is missing. We have not established that Campendium has no veterinary, dog-park or pet-specific information anywhere in its products; the earlier categorical absence claims and invented travel scenario have been removed.

Waggle Places does not claim feature-for-feature equivalence with Campendium RV Pro. In particular, this guide does not promise campsite-availability alerts, guaranteed RV-clearance routing, universal verified pet policies or confirmed overnight parking. A parking candidate is not overnight permission. A clinic listing is not confirmation that an emergency appointment is available.
A practical comparison before you commit
- Choose one actual campground and your intended dates. Compare the address, site type and current operator policy across your sources.
- Check one nearby dog walk and one care option. Verify the exact access point and telephone the clinic when emergency access matters.
- For navigation, compare the product’s documented rig settings with your vehicle and route. Do not substitute a general planning line for clearance guidance.
- If buying a membership for one feature, confirm its platform availability and terms directly before paying.
